Pests That Are Loud and Disturbing
This fall and winter, expect pests that make a lot of noise. Inside this blog, we talk about noisy pests and some things you can do to prevent their presence in and around your home.
Birds
Pest birds make a lot of noise and messes. If they can get into your attic or wall space, they can nest there. As you sleep, you may hear them scrapping in and out or their young peeping.
Look for broken screening over vents, chimney, and soffit vents. Look also for loose siding or missing boards that allow entry into wall spaces. Listen for scratching noises and peeps that come from the ceiling or wall.
Stray Animals
Stray pets can be a real nuisance. The loud catfights at 2 am, and the smell of urine mark their territories are not pleasant. Look for denning spots under the house or outbuildings, in old cars or trailers. You will notice spray and the smell of urine around porches, gates, and on car tires.
Bats
Bats, like pest birds, will take up residence in your home. Attic spaces are ideal for bats, but they also like chimneys, wall spaces, and garages.
Bats are mammals, and they roost where they can keep warm. All mammals can carry rabies, even humans, but the real trouble with bats is that they are often loud. They scratch and chitter and can keep you away. Physically, their scat and urine are very damaging to homes.
Inspect the attic space for their presence; you will notice their scat and urine if they are not at home. Listen for noise from the wall or attic. We can help you if you need your attic inspected for pests. Just give us a call.
