March Pest Control
What’s on the pest calendar for Bryan and College Station?
Mice – This is still the time of year where we see a lot of rodent issues. Those few mice that you had in December have now had a litter of babies and the babies are not foraging and having litters of their own. People are seeing more mice and discovering more feces and urine. While DIY traps make a dent in the population, they don’t seem to get rid of all the mice. So you have these small population explosions ever six or so weeks.
Mosquitoes – This abnormal hot spell has primed the mosquito population for an early start. Generally, you have a few early season species, but we can expect an early mosquito season with larger populations of mosquitoes this year. The warm weather and the rain create an ideal set of conditions for mosquitoes to breed. There are mosquito control units that we can install or if needed lay down spray to help reduce the population of mosquitoes in yards and around businesses.
Snake – Like the mosquitoes, the snakes are waking up early too. The warm weather speeds up their metabolism and as it does the become hungry. Expect to see snakes early and in hunting mode. Snakes provide a set of useful services to property owners so call our experts to remove them rather than kill them.
House Flies – Where there is sunny days, there is going to be flies. Usually, there are a few species of flies out this time of year, but with temps in the 60’s fly season too is going to be early.
