Termites and the Swarm
Every year termite colonies divide, and when they do, a portion of the old colony flies off with a new queen to form a new colony. It is the only time in their lives that termites fly. March and April are the two months of the year when swarming occurs.
One of the most significant pests of the insect world is about to swarm, which means homes are in danger of a termite infestation.
Bed Bugs Infestations
Bed bugs are a common pest, and nearly every month of the year, they are trouble. The more we move from one place to another, the more likely we will bring bed bugs home. Bed bugs are challenging to exterminate because who wants pesticides on their bed. The trick to ridding a home of bed bugs is to use steam and heat, not toxins.
If you have unexplained bites, it could be from bed bugs. Give us a call, and we can inspect your home for bed bugs.
Rodent Infestation
Rodents are a large group of pests that can do severe damage to homes and personal property. Rodents are an ongoing problem in every neighborhood. Squirrels can chew the wiring on your vehicle, damage the roof’s shingles, and siding trying to get into a wall space or attic. Inside your home or garage, rats and mice will gnaw on personal property, shred clothing to make nests, and pull the insulation from appliances. Not to mention they urinate and drop fecal pellets all over the place, including in toasters and countertop appliances. Rodents are just another nightmare pest.
Home Invading Pests
Pests that invade your home or garage pose a severe risk. Not all of them are venomous or have toxins, but some do. Most pests carry diseases or pathogens such as Salmonella or spread diseases such as Lyme disease. Some, such as spiders and bed bugs, can bite, while others may pass on bacteria via their scat or urine.
The list of pests that invade homes is quite long. It includes well-known pests such as cockroaches, mice, rats, fleas, and even ticks. One of the most invasive orders of insects is flies. Houseflies, drain flies, mosquitoes, fruit flies, and others can be beyond annoying. Some may spread disease too.
We work with homeowners and commercial clients to decrease the risk of pests such as blister beetles and those we’ve mentioned.
